A Recent Review

It’s always nice to hear from guests about how wonderful their stays were at Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa. From the entertainment and activities to the food and the property, our guests continue to rave about the beauty of our resort. To give you an idea of what it’s like to spend time with us, here’s a recent review from Trip Advisor user, Patricia P.

Vacation was too short

I stayed at this resort the last week of June. My mother and I try to do a few trips a year together to stay close. We usually return to the same resort every time but this time we decided to try a new resort. We are very happy that we did. We were very happy with the wonderful food and dining staff who served us. When we had questions or any minor concerns staff very very supportive and took action immediately. Mom and I enjoyed seeing how the entertainment team interacted with the children that were there. The manager of the entertainment team Juan manuel worked and played right alongside his team of staff. It was very sweet to see him interacting with all the kids individually and making the kids feel very special. We decided that my nieces, aged 8,5,4, will need to accompany us when we return. Kaly on the entertainment exam was full of energy and helped to keep everyone in a great mood.

The rooms were very nice and the housekeepers were efficient and very honest. We left a tip out for them but it had Gotten mixed up with stuff on the table so it didn’t look like an obvious tip. Housekeeping left it there.

I wish we were able to stay longer. We had some great mother daughter moments and created a lot of wonderful memories. I can’t wait to bring my nieces back next time. I know that all the staff at the resort and especially the entertainment team lead by Juan manuel will treat them like the princesses that I know they are.

Make it at Home: Fish Tacos

Our guests at Sunscape Resorts & Spas rave about our fish tacos. That’s why we wanted to share this quick recipe with you so you can make this yummy dish at home. We guarantee they’ll be a crowd pleaser!

1 lb fresh fish fillets (Cod, Mahi Mahi or any other white fish)

Salt and Pepper

Olive Oil

1 dozen corn tortillas

Salsa (homemade or store bought)

1 Avocado

Soak the fish in cold water for one minute then pat dry with a paper towel. Add a few tablespoons of olive oil to a large skillet and cook the fish on medium heat. The fish should be barely translucent when cooked. Second, thinly slice the cabbage and avocado. Sprinkle the cabbage with cider vinegar and salt for flavor. Next, place the tortillas on a napkin or paper towel and heat them microwave on high for 20 to 25 seconds. This will absorb the moisture. Finally, assemble your tacos.

If you’re inviting guests over, it may be fun to spread out all the ingredients and let them make their own tacos!

The History of Beach Volleyball

A very popular beach activity at Sunscape Resorts & Spas is beach volleyball! Our guests love hitting the sand and serving it up it hopes of beating their opponents. But when did beach volleyball begin? Today, we’re going to give you a brief history.

Beach volleyball is said to have begun in the 1920s in Santa Monica, California about 25 years after the indoor version of the game was invented on the East Coast of the United States in Massachusetts. Initially, the sport was played as a family fun activity, but its low cost soon made it spread around the world. By the 1930s, the game was being played in places such as Riga, Sofia and Prague.

During the Great Depression, the sport experienced quite a boost as the economy was suffering and families were looking for fun activities for relatively no cost. By the 1950s, competitions were being held in several cities in California. Shortly after, sponsors realized the popularity of beach volleyball and began to take advantage of it.

In the 1970s, the first pro beach volleyball tour was organized and by 1986, the International Volleyball Federation had recognized the sport. Finally, in 1996, beach volleyball became part of the Olympics.

Today, hundreds of thousands of people enjoy the sport worldwide either participating for competition or for pleasure and this includes many of our guests!
