Incoming! Hot Air Balloon Festival in Ixtapa!

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa has a front row seat for the 1st Hot Air Balloon Festival, taking place in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo from November 9-11.

The festival will host 20 hot air balloons from throughout Mexico at this three-day, evening event. On Friday night, November 9th, guests of Sunscape Dorado can enjoy the nighttime parade down Ixtapa Boulevard, which will include 10 hot air balloons and a nearby special exhibition of two balloons to round out the evening.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 10-11, kids staying at Sunscape Dorado can participate in a nearby family-friendly workshop on the inner workings of a hot air balloon, “How to Craft a Hot Air Balloon.” The balloons prepare for launch both evenings at 7 p.m. at neighboring La Cucarachas beach. It will be a sight not easily missed in Ixtapa when the hot air balloons perform elevations and landings throughout the night. Both evenings come to a close with a stargazing party and guest DJ! All festival events are free to attend.

Seems like a great way to add to an Unlimited-Fun® vacation! For more information on the festival, visit globosaerostaticosmexico.com.

Stay tuned after the event for photos!

Travel Tips to Remember

Vacation may be the ultimate de-stressor, but packing and traveling to your vacation destination can often be somewhat of a stressful experience. As you pack your bags to head to Sunscape Resorts & Spas or another destination, here are some travel tips that are sure to help you!

  • Don’t over pack. The key to not over packing is to create a list of the items you want to bring and stick to that list. If that extra pair of shoes or slacks didn’t make your original packing list, you probably don’t need it.
  • Do your research. Rules are constantly changing so make sure to look up the latest security regulations and international travel rules before you leave for the airport. This will avoid unnecessary delays in airport security and customs.
  • Plan your excursions. The choices available for excursions can sometimes be overwhelming and next thing you know your entire vacation is filled with day trip after day trip. By looking into the available excursions before your trip and deciding what activities are most important to you, you can make sure your vacation is both eventful and relaxing.
  • Keep a record at home. You may never think that you could lose your passport or other important travel documents while on vacation, but you can. To be prepared, scan copies of your passport, driver license, and other travel documents and email them to yourself just in case you misplace them.
  • Put some essentials in your carry on. Although we hate to think about it, baggage can be lost. The best way to prevent lost luggage from ruining your vacation is to pack a few essentials in your carry on bag such as a swimsuit, extra outfit and beach essentials—sunglasses, a hat and a good book.  Even if nothing gets lost in transit, it’s much easier to quickly access your beach needs via your carry on so you don’t lose a minute of sunshine and relaxation.
