10 Destination Wedding Tips

Our wedding coordinators at Sunscape Resorts & Spas always aim to please and ensure that our brides and grooms have an extra special big day! For anyone currently planning a wedding, here our 10 tips to help you through the process.

  • Save yourself some money. Few people realize that destination weddings are less expensive than traditional weddings. You’ll be able to combine the wedding and honeymoon for a much more affordable option.
  • Relax before, during and after the wedding. Choosing a destination wedding means you’ll also have time for a mini-vacation. Most countries require couples to arrive a few days prior to the wedding day to finalize details and paperwork. After all this, you’ll have a few days to enjoy quality time with their friends, family and each other.
  • Pick the perfect location.  It is best to decide on a location after you estimate the number of guests who will attend the wedding. This will help narrow your property search.
  • Reserve early. Reserve rooms for the wedding party and guests as early as possible. The sooner the better.
  • Make a budget and stick to it. Once you decide on a budget, it is important to keep track of all of your spending. Go over the budget with the wedding coordinator to ensure all your wedding needs are met while staying within your budget.
  • Get help. An on-site wedding coordinator will ensure your wedding day is simply perfect. They’ll help organize, prepare and coordinate every detail leading up to your special day.
  • Take some time for yourself. As newlyweds, you’ll be exhausted from the wedding. Take a few days to sleep in, slow down and rest.
  • Keep everyone informed. Wedding websites are the perfect way to keep all of your guests informed about your big day. Include photos, addresses, directions, accommodations, travel information and other important information that will help your guests.
  • Enjoy the great outdoors. Consider a wedding location with outdoor options. Having an outdoor wedding gives you flexibility in the number of people you can invite and also offers spectacular views.
  • Find the right package for you. Resorts often offer a variety of wedding and honeymoon packages. Each package usually provides an array of services and amenities tailored specifically for the bride, groom and newlyweds. You can find out more about the wedding packages atSunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa here.

Earth Hour at Sunscape Dorado Pacifico

At Sunscape Resorts & Spas, we believe in working toward a sustainable future. For that reason, Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Cancun participated in Earth Hour, an international declaration against the dangers of climate change. Earth Hour’s website defines the worldwide movement:

Hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments around the world unite each year to support the largest environmental event in history – Earth Hour.

More than 6,950 cities and towns in 152 countries and territories switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2012, sending a powerful message for action to save the planet. This year marked the continuation of the movement going Beyond the Hour, with more than 200,000 individuals accepting I Will If You Will challenges on YouTube to turn their symbolic action for the planet into an ongoing commitment to a sustainable future.”

Before they turned off the lights, the Entertainment Staff gave a presentation to resort guests about the importance of conservation, including what children learned that day while at the Explorer’s Club.

Five Tips For Navigating Facebook Timeline

If you don’t already know, Facebook is changing all profiles to the timeline format on March 30th. We are taking this opportunity to give the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa Facebook page a facelift to make it even more appealing for our fans. Though this change can be a bit intimidating at first, we want to help ensure that our page still has the “community” feel that you have come to know and love. We value the opinions of all of our fans and want our page to continue to be a place where you can find information, ask questions and interact with us on a personal level.

Here are a few key facts about timeline that we think will help you better navigate the new look and feel of our page.

1. Cover Photos: As soon as you come to our page, you’ll notice a large photo at the top known as our cover photo. Since Facebook timeline is now very visual, this section gives us a chance to show off our beautiful property! Feel free to take this image and use it as the cover photo on your Facebook page. We want to see how much you love our resort through the use of one of our cover photos!

2. Posting to Our Timeline: When you post to our timeline, your post will no longer go immediately on our wall. Instead, it will go into a small box called “Recent Posts by Others” in the right hand corner of our page. If you click on one of the comments, you will open up a window, which shows all posts and you’re able to scroll through them. There’s no need to panic with this new feature. We’re still able see all your posts and will respond to them as we normally would!

3. Seeing Only “Posts by Others”: By default, Facebook will always show “Highlights” on our timeline meaning it will only display posts by us. For example, if you are on the Sunscape Dorado page—you will automatically only see posts by Sunscape Dorado until you start scrolling past the current month. However, if you’d like to interact with our page similar to how you did in the old format and just see posts from fans, simply change the drop down to “Posts by Others.” You’re also able to filter timeline to view friend activity, which will just show posts from your friends, and posts by page, which will only show posts from Sunscape Dorado.

4. Message Us: Great news! You can now message our pages directly by clicking on the message button at the top of our timeline. If you have an issue or question and do not publically want to post it on our page, feel free to reach out to us here. We’ll respond as quickly as possible!

5. Photos, Tabs & Sweepstakes: Our photos, tabs and sweepstakes have now moved from the left hand side of our page under our profile picture to the top of our page under our cover photo. Our photos, tabs and sweepstakes will all function just as they did on our old Facebook page. Simply click on whichever box you’d like and you’ll see its content.
