A Recent Guest Review

We love to hear feedback from our guests, and one great way to find out what our guests are thinking is scouring the Internet for reviews, blog posts, photos and videos. Below is a recent review of Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa that we stumbled across on Trip Advisor during our search that we just had to share with you!

We Are Going Back!

First of all, anyone who hasn’t been to Ixtapa should go – it’s amazing. The weather was hot and sunny EVERY DAY – not even a cloud! It’s close enough to other things that you can leave the resort, but not so close that you feel like you’re not getting away. The sand was soft just like in the Caribbean and the water was warm enough to play in.

This resort recently went All Inclusive (November 2011) and I can say what a great decision. I had read that many were not happy about it as they enjoyed it while it was not AI but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Then again we like All Inclusive resorts.

The place was immaculately clean and someone was always tidying or cleaning something. Our room was spotless with a great view of the ocean. The hotel ammenities (gym/spa) were also spotless and well maintained.

The food was the BEST part of the trip – the Italian restaurant was our favourite – we went twice. If you are used to Denny’s then this won’t be for you – but if you enjoy delicious food in reasonable portions then you will enjoy. The food at the resort in general was very very good. The lobby bar had great live music two or three nights we were there. We NEVER had to wait in line for dinner or drinks – contrary to what some reviews stated. However we also went to dinner right at 7pm (since that was 9pm our time) and never once has to wait in line.

The staff and the service were amazing – we never wanted for anything. The staff are friendly and make an effort to make your stay enjoyable.

Scrapbook Your Vacation

At Sunscape Resorts & Spas, our motto is Unlimited-Fun®. So when you’re vacationing at one of our resorts, we just know you’ll want to remember all the fun you had with your loved ones during your stay for a lifetime. For those who want to help those memories live on, we think you should consider making a vacation scrapbook.

If you aren’t a pro-scrapbooker, not to worry — there are plenty of resources, tips and tools available to help guide you through the process so you can create a custom scrapbook that will become a cherished keepsake for your family for many years to come.

It goes without saying that you’ll want to round-up all of our vacation pictures for the scrapbook. But memories from your trip should also include token souvenirs such as postcards, luggage tags, restaurant napkins, wine labels, maps, matchbooks and more.  These small inexpensive or free items become symbols of special places you’ve visited and experiences you’ve had and will help tell a story about your trip in a scrapbook.

Next, make a stop at your local craft store to pick-up a scrapbook, some colored paper and photo adhesive. When you start the scrapbook, it’s best to consider how you’d like to arrange the scrapbook (ie. chronologically, geographically, or no particular order). Then you’ll want to plan out each page before attaching anything to it. Make sure you are incorporating a good mix of pictures, souvenirs and colorful backgrounds to make the pages look attractive.

Leave some room on certain pages to include narrative about memorable experiences or fun quotes from the trip. Be sure to decorate the cover of the scrapbook so it ties in with the trip. And don’t forget to include the entire family in creating the scrapbook!! You could even have each member of the family write a short description of their favorite part of the trip.

Whatever you decide to do for your scrapbook, make sure it is a true reflection of your family and the fun memories you shared together on your vacation. Let us know if you have any other tips or tricks to add!

10 Destination Wedding Tips

Our wedding coordinators at Sunscape Resorts & Spas always aim to please and ensure that our brides and grooms have an extra special big day! For anyone currently planning a wedding, here our 10 tips to help you through the process.

  • Save yourself some money. Few people realize that destination weddings are less expensive than traditional weddings. You’ll be able to combine the wedding and honeymoon for a much more affordable option.
  • Relax before, during and after the wedding. Choosing a destination wedding means you’ll also have time for a mini-vacation. Most countries require couples to arrive a few days prior to the wedding day to finalize details and paperwork. After all this, you’ll have a few days to enjoy quality time with their friends, family and each other.
  • Pick the perfect location.  It is best to decide on a location after you estimate the number of guests who will attend the wedding. This will help narrow your property search.
  • Reserve early. Reserve rooms for the wedding party and guests as early as possible. The sooner the better.
  • Make a budget and stick to it. Once you decide on a budget, it is important to keep track of all of your spending. Go over the budget with the wedding coordinator to ensure all your wedding needs are met while staying within your budget.
  • Get help. An on-site wedding coordinator will ensure your wedding day is simply perfect. They’ll help organize, prepare and coordinate every detail leading up to your special day.
  • Take some time for yourself. As newlyweds, you’ll be exhausted from the wedding. Take a few days to sleep in, slow down and rest.
  • Keep everyone informed. Wedding websites are the perfect way to keep all of your guests informed about your big day. Include photos, addresses, directions, accommodations, travel information and other important information that will help your guests.
  • Enjoy the great outdoors. Consider a wedding location with outdoor options. Having an outdoor wedding gives you flexibility in the number of people you can invite and also offers spectacular views.
  • Find the right package for you. Resorts often offer a variety of wedding and honeymoon packages. Each package usually provides an array of services and amenities tailored specifically for the bride, groom and newlyweds. You can find out more about the wedding packages atSunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa here.

Earth Hour at Sunscape Dorado Pacifico

At Sunscape Resorts & Spas, we believe in working toward a sustainable future. For that reason, Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Cancun participated in Earth Hour, an international declaration against the dangers of climate change. Earth Hour’s website defines the worldwide movement:

Hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments around the world unite each year to support the largest environmental event in history – Earth Hour.

More than 6,950 cities and towns in 152 countries and territories switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2012, sending a powerful message for action to save the planet. This year marked the continuation of the movement going Beyond the Hour, with more than 200,000 individuals accepting I Will If You Will challenges on YouTube to turn their symbolic action for the planet into an ongoing commitment to a sustainable future.”
